The Looming “Quantum Apocalypse”

Digital security has relied on RSA and ECC for decades. A powerful quantum computer might break encryption in seconds due to their rapid growth. According to some, this vulnerability might lead to a “Quantum Apocalypse” that compromises private identities, financial systems, and sensitive government data.

SEALSQ’s involvement at Tech&Fest 2026 is a direct response to this issue. The company is creating a “Quantum Shield” to protect the most vital infrastructures in the world by incorporating Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) straight into its semiconductor design. This comprises:

  • Smart Energy and Power Grids: Preserving the core of contemporary utilities.
  • Medical and Healthcare Systems: Protecting the integrity of medical devices and important patient data.
  • Automotive and EV Charging: Ensuring the safety of connected vehicles and charging networks.
  • Defense and IT Infrastructure: Shielding national security and communication networks from external breaches.

Tech&Fest 2026: A Stage for Sovereignty

France’s main innovation conference is Tech&Fest 2026 in Alpexpo in Grenoble, the Alps’ Silicon Valley. The 2026 event will bring 20,000 people and 250 industry leaders, scholars, and government.

SEALSQ will take center stage with its CEO, Carlos Moreira, on a high-stakes morning panel on quantum cybersecurity. Moreira will then present Technological Sovereignty in the Quantum Era, the keynote. This talk will underscore the essential necessity for the European Union to produce local, “sovereign” technology. Moreira says that by combining France’s long-standing experience in secure semiconductors with new breakthroughs, SEALSQ is establishing the foundations for a truly European post-quantum technological stack. This tactic seeks to lessen reliance on semiconductor supply chains, which are frequently centered in Asia or North America.

Three Decades of French Engineering Heritage

The foundation of SEALSQ’s reputation as a “French technology champion” is its three decades of industrial history. The company’s French affiliate, SEALSQ France, employs roughly 200 specialists throughout its traditional hub in Meyreuil and other teams in Grenoble and Toulouse.

The company’s engineering roots can be found in Gemplus, a trailblazer that transformed smart card technology in the 1980s. General Manager Bernard Vian, who has led the company’s transformation from a specialized hardware supplier into a Nasdaq-listed behemoth with a market capitalization of roughly $1 billion, personifies this legacy. Since 2015, SEALSQ has operated as part of the WISeKey worldwide Holding Ltd group, which has expedited its worldwide expansion and led to its 2023 Nasdaq IPO.

Strategic Acquisitions and the Quobly Partnership

To consolidate the quantum ecosystem, SEALSQ has undertaken many strong strategic moves:

  1. IC’Alps Acquisition (August 2025): To improve its capacity for designing custom ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits), SEALSQ purchased this Grenoble-based company.
  2. Quobly Memorandum of Understanding (January 2026): SEALSQ and Quobly, a firm located in Grenoble that specializes in silicon-based quantum computing, inked an MoU. This possible strategic investment attempts to blend Quobly’s processing capacity with SEALSQ’s “secure-by-design” expertise. The goal is to establish a sovereign quantum computing platform optimized for industrial and defense applications, ensuring that the computers capable of cracking encryption are themselves constructed on a secure basis.

Global Ambitions: The Indian Market

SEALSQ is transferring its knowledge to international markets while concentrating on European sovereignty. The business has signed a final contract with Kaynes SemiCon to form a joint venture in India called SEALKAYNESQ Ltd.

This business focuses on the development and customisation of sovereign post-quantum semiconductors compatible with India’s national security needs. SEALSQ is proving that its paradigm of technical sovereignty can be modified to assist other countries in securing their own digital borders by setting up secure test and customizing platforms in India.

The Hardware Portfolio: “Device-to-Cloud” Security

At Tech&Fest 2026, where SEALSQ is also an official sponsor of the gala supper, the firm will demonstrate its latest certified hardware components. Their value offer relies on a “Device-to-Cloud” authentication paradigm, which employs hardware-based roots of trust to survive upcoming quantum attacks. Products that are highlighted include:

ProductFunctionApplication
Quantum Shield QS7001State-of-the-art secure element.Designed specifically to resist quantum attacks.
QVault TPMTrusted Platform Module.Provides a hardware-based root of trust for IoT devices.
VaultIC SeriesSecure elements.Used in smart meters, luxury brand protection, and anti-counterfeiting.
Matter Device AttestationAuthentication standard.Ensures security and interoperability in Smart Home devices.

A Future Manufactured on Security

As the global technological landscape braces for the “quantum leap,” SEALSQ’s participation in Tech&Fest 2026 serves as a siren call for industrial preparation. The company is not only projecting the future of cybersecurity; with its blend of French industrial legacy and forward-looking research, it is building the foundation of a sovereign digital world.

The integration of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), provisioning services, and quantum-resistant chips ensures that enterprises stay safe while old cryptographic approaches become outmoded. SEALSQ offers strong, future-proof protection for sensitive data in a variety of industries, such as consumer IoT, logistics, and telecommunications, by directly integrating PQC at the silicon level.
