Bridging the Gap to the Quantum Internet

As a vertically integrated quantum business, BTQ Technologies is committed to assisting the worldwide shift from conventional classical networks to the upcoming quantum internet. The company’s complete, full-stack strategy, which makes use of a neutral atom quantum computing platform, is its primary selling point. This platform includes a wide range of technical solutions, such as sophisticated post-quantum security solutions, specialized middleware, and end-to-end hardware.

These technologies are specifically designed to enable high-stakes applications in several crucial industries, such as:

  • Finance and global banking infrastructure.
  • Telecommunications and network resilience.
  • Logistics and supply chain optimization.
  • Life sciences and medical research.
  • Defense and national security operations.

The company’s broad patent portfolio and its reputation for developing what it calls “commercially significant quantum advantage” further highlight its significance in this field.

Insight from Leadership

Olivier Roussy Newton, the CEO and chairman of BTQ Technologies, commented on the inclusion and emphasized how the sector is changing. “As quantum computing moves closer to commercial inflection, investors are increasingly looking for targeted ways to gain exposure to the companies helping define this next era of computing,” Roussy Newton said.

He stated that being included in the WQTM fund further demonstrates the essential roles that infrastructure, security, and cryptographic resilience play as the global quantum stack’s core layers.

Understanding the WQTM Fund and Index

A themed ETF with a U.S. listing, the WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM) is traded on the Cboe BZX Exchange. The fund was formed in October 2025 with the express purpose of capturing long-term growth as the quantum sector progresses from theoretical research to full-scale commercialization.

The fund aims to replicate the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing Index’s price and yield performance. This unique index uses a strict framework to assess possible constituents and was co-developed with Classiq, a renowned leader in quantum software. Two main metrics are the focus of the review process:

  • Relevance: The degree to which a business’s operations are essential to the field of quantum computing.
  • Purity: How much a constituent is exposed to quantum technology in comparison to other business areas.

The index’s approach aims to offer a well-rounded combination of global technological leaders who are significantly advancing the use of quantum technology, as well as pure-play quantum inventors. WQTM maintained total assets of about $26.4 million as of February 2026, and recorded an expense ratio of 0.45%.

Recent Strategic Milestones

The inclusion in WQTM comes after BTQ Technologies made a number of technological and business advancements. BTQ has been actively increasing its physical and cooperative presence, according to recent reports from the company:

  • New York City Expansion: To speed up the development of its Quantum Computing in Memory (QCIM) technology, the company recently announced the opening of a new Quantum Hardware Commercialization Hub in New York City, along with the hiring of important engineers.
  • Silicon Innovation: To validate the QCIM Quantum Secure Chip in silicon, BTQ collaborated with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI).
  • Software and Emulation: To further diversify its service offerings, BTQ, QPerfect, and SDT introduced the MIMIQTM-powered quantum emulation service on the QUREKATM platform.

Market Context and Risk Factors

Rapid innovation and substantial uncertainty are characteristics of the quantum computing sector. The management of BTQ acknowledges many dangers, even if they are confident in the shift to quantum-resistant algorithms and vulnerabilities. These include the erratic demand for specialized workers in the post-quantum and encryption technology sectors, the speculative character of research and development initiatives, and the accessibility of continuous funding.

Additionally, the company points out that general economic conditions, legislative changes (including those that impact blockchain), and the lasting indirect effects of worldwide events like COVID-19 may cause research initiatives to be delayed or make it more difficult to secure funding.

Despite these obstacles, BTQ’s inclusion in a significant thematic ETF such as WQTM indicates that the company’s contribution to safeguarding the future of global digital infrastructure is increasingly acknowledged by institutions.
